Ritualistic High Magic—High Magic Dance

This is an outside-in style of high magic. The mystic ritualistically dances through high magic regions around themselves. In so doing they forge mystical links deep within themselves to those high magic regions. You begin by acquiring the high magic power, High Magic Dance (e) (MP).

High Magic Dance

When the skill is first acquired the mystic gains Dance 1: The Dance of Physical Balance. Each dance requires an hour to perform the first time; the mystic requires only a few minutes to complete a dance after the first time. Successful completion of a dance has an invigorating effect; all who accomplish this acquire the condition Exhilarated (e) at the level of success of the path. This gives the character a positive outlook and directly works against negative influences. This condition is reduced by one level per day until it reaches 0, when it is gone. Dance 1: The Dance of Meditation

The mystic ritualistically exercises, stretches, and dances for three hours daily. Each day the mystic is allowed to make a High magic Dance roll at -5. Upon a successful roll the character experiences a vision and the character acquires Dance of Meditation (e) (MP).

Dance of Meditation: This is a set of ritual breathing techniques and postures in the form of a dance whose result is split between the effect and the duration of the effect. The effect is converted into extreme power pips and becomes a modifier to all skill attempts for the duration. There is an extreme power detriment for this. Dance 2: The Dance of Physical Power

Through research, at -5, or through an increase High Magic Dance, the mystic learns the techniques to gain the Dance of Physical Power. The mystic then ritualistically exercises, stretches, and dances for three hours daily. Upon a successful roll the character experiences a vision and acquires the Dance of Physical Power (e) (MP).

Dance of Physical Power: This is a set of gestures and postures in the form of a dance whose result is split between the effect and the duration of the effect. The effect is then split (dropping all fractions) and the result becomes points applied to attribute pips as if they were HP. These pips are added to PF for the duration. Dance of Physical Awareness: This power is a set of gestures and controlled postures in the form of a dance that results in the mystic gaining the condition Physical Awareness (e). The result is split between the duration and effect. The effect is turned into HP to acquire Physical Awareness; the ability to be aware of their physical surroundings, to notice things, to notice patterns that might be subtle or hidden. Upon a successful roll the character experiences a vision and the character acquires the Dance of The Awareness of Cosmic Consciousness (e) (MP).

Dance of the Awareness of Cosmic Consciousness: This is a set of gestures, ritual breathing techniques, and postures in the form of a dance whose result is split between the effect and the duration of the effect. The effect is then split (dropping all fractions) and the result becomes points applied to attribute pips as if they were HP. These pips are added to either PY or MP for the duration. Through research, at -5, or through an increase High Magic Dance, the mystic learns the techniques to gain the Dance of Contentment. The mystic then ritualistically exercises, stretches, and dances for three hours daily. Upon a successful roll the character experiences a vision and the character acquires the Dance of Contentment (e) (MP).

Dance of Contentment: This is a set of gestures, ritual breathing techniques, and postures in the form of a dance whose result is split between the duration and effect. The effect is the ability to ignore all jealousy, covetousness, material greed, or similar conditions. There is a 6 detriment for using this power. Dance 7: The First Obstacle on the Dance of Life

Through research, at -10, or through an increase High Magic Dance, the mystic learns the techniques to experience The First Obstacle on the Dance of Life. The mystic must overcome the first obstacle in their development. The mystic has learned that divine power is within everything, and that adverse emotions and conditions detriment their ability to interact with that divine power. The mystic must complete a quest, sent in a dream, that challenges their detrimental conditions. The quest is difficult to accomplish, and it is at the end when all adverse conditions are removed from the character (in addition to completing the quest). A vision comes to your character and you acquire the power Dance of Ecstasy (e) (MP). The mystic also gains their Dance of Unveiling (e) (MP).

The effect is converted into pips to gain the mystical condition, Knowledge of Higher Self (e), that allows the mystic to be guided to do and act in the correct way for the situation; the mystic may use this condition as the basis for any task that is in accord with their Higher Self (as determined by the GM). Through research, at -30, or through an increase High Magic Dance, the mystic learns the techniques to gain the Second Obstacle on the Dance of Life. The mystic must undergo the second obstacle in their development. The mystic has learned that their divine power is blocked by adverse emotions. The mystic must complete a quest, sent in a dream, that challenges their detrimental conditions. The quest is impossible to accomplish, and it is at an end when all adverse conditions are removed from the character. The mystic must also improve their Dance of Unveiling (e) (MP).

The Dance of Unveiling: This is a set of gestures, ritual breathing techniques, and postures in the form of a dance. The second time this dance is successful, the mystic gains another magical power, suitable to their past actions, as if they were a greater spirit. The previous power also increases to this level. There is a 27 detriment for using this power the second time. This dance may not be performed again until the mystic is directed to do so.

Dance 16: The Dance of Remembrance

Through research, at -30, or through an increase High Magic Dance, the mystic learns the techniques to gain the Dance of Remembrance. The mystic then ritualistically exercises, stretches, and dances for three hours daily. Upon a successful roll the character experiences a vision and the character acquires the Dance of Remembrance (e) (MP).

Dance of Remembrance: This is a set of gestures, ritual breathing techniques, and postures in the form of a dance whose result is to allow the mystic to surrender their psyche to their higher power. The result is split between duration and effect. The effect here is to remove adverse mental conditions by the level of success for the duration (this makes it easier to buy off). Dance of Purification: This is a set of gestures, ritual breathing techniques, and postures in the form of a dance that forms the basis all of the higher powers to come. The result is split between the duration and effect, the effect is converted into pipis for the mystical condition, Purity (e), the ability to receive higher powers.
