Magical Intentions:
The Tree of Life is a relic created by Ilsundal and is the source of the power of the clan. The Tree of Life can bring forth any of the following powers under the action of a Tree-Keeper:
Each of these powers are performed at a level of 50. If a power is channeled by a Tree-Keeper at a distance this is reduced to 10 plus the level of success.
Once per month a Tree-Keeper can draw an ounce of sap from the Tree of Life. This sap is then distilled for one full day to become a golden drop. This is a drop of Oil of Sunlight. This Oil has one of several magical properties:
The drop is expended in this use.
An Elven Lightboat can be constructed by harvesting leaves from the Tree of Life. Successful Elf Magic rolls are required each week to harvest one of the large leaves. These leaves are fashioned into the hull of the boat. This process takes one year to complete. When the hull is finished one hundred drops of Oil of Sunlight are required to complete the Lightboat. An Elven Lightboat can carry up to 10 elves through the air at 60 kilometers per hour. The craft produces its own air and thus has no practical altitude restrictions so long as there is still air.
In one month, after successfully harvesting and treating bark from the Tree of Life, a Tree-Keeper can make Elven Boots. These are normal boots whose soles are the treated bark. The level of success is the level of Move Silently that is conferred to the wearer of the boots.
In six months a Tree-Keeper can create an Elven Cloak. Twenty leaves of the Tree of Life are pulped, then drawn into fibers, then woven into the cloth used to make the cloak. The level of success is the level of Invisibility conferred to the wearer of the cloak. This power is activated when the hood of the cloak is raised over the head of the wearer.
The wood of a Tree of Life can be used to make magical bows and arrows. After a year of daily meditation the tree will give up some of its wood. There will be enough wood to make two bows, or twenty arrows. If a bow is made the process takes another year and the bow is +25 to hit and +25 to damage at all ranges. The arrows take a month to make and are +5 to hit and +5 to damage.
